Beauty Secrets for Summer

Vanessa Kudrat, founder of www.BodyMindGifts.com, has been working with essential oils for healing for 24 years. She is excited to share with you some of her favorite tips for summer wellness in this workshop. Learn remedies to help with allergies, bug bites, plus sun protection alternatives and skin and muscle nourishing tonics and techniques. You will have the opportunity to sample some amazing products and recipes, and will go home with some ideas to implement into your organic First Aid Kit.
4 kale leaves
1 lemon, peeled
1/2 inch fresh ginger
4 cups water
blend and enjoy that!
Quinoa, wild rice, forbidden rice, red rice, barley, buckwheat, and millet.
Eggplant, onion, bell peppers (red, orange and yellow), tomato, zucchini, lotus root, beet, turnips, carrot, leeks, asparagus, broccoli, yellow squash, anything you like!
Cilantro, oregano, thyme, rosemary, green onion, chive, garlic, dill, anything you like.
Cook grains as directed. As the quinoa (or your choice of grain) cooks, wash and chop the vegetables however you like. Add the vegetables to the grain in the last 5 minutes of the steam. We want those veggies bright and slightly crisp, not overcooked. During that 5 minutes, wash and chop the fresh herb of choice. Add the chopped or minced fresh herb to the dish after you’ve turned off the heat. So, you are basically getting the raw herb, which is most powerful.

A simple prescription to take a 30-minute walk and eat an organic apple every day is a great start. Walking will oxygenate and help detoxify the body. Eating an apple contributes to a healthy immune system and is a nice alkaline treat for the body.
Over the next couple of weeks or so, I will be posting a lot more terrific information on how to achieve results in each of these four areas. If you or someone you know has a diagnosis, you will want to implement most of the strategies I will be sharing. And, if you are in great health, the suggestions I make will help you maintain and exceed that for your lifetime.
These four protocols are how the body most effectively heals itself. The body is a masterful self-healing machine. This is evident as we watch our skin heal from a cut or scrape. We can heal anything if our body has what it needs to self-correct. So, we need to position it for self-correction with the food and lifestyle choices we make. We really do make magic or mayhem with our daily food choices.

When it comes to herbs, FRESH IS BEST. So buy fresh herbs, or better yet, plant an herb box or herb garden. You don’t need much room for an herb garden, a 4×4-foot box will do.

We are an extraordinary technology, a God technology.
Our intricate systems are amazing, from the nervous system to the endocrine system to the digestive system to the neural cognitive system. I mean, really, how incredibly fascinating are the operations of our bodies?!
So first, just take a moment to celebrate yourself. Without doing anything, you are absolutely incredible.
When we study and observe the physical body, it can bring us great awareness. But, I think it’s also important to observe and study the subtle or energetic body.
I knew this was true years ago after the very first time I did a Tai Chi form (another word for routine, if you’re not familiar).
Tai Chi is well-known to balance energy and reduce stress, but that doesn’t sum up its power. I learned a form from a visiting instructor at a Karate class, and the slow, intentional movements, combined with breath, made me feel like running. It felt as though the movements, like a broom, had swept and pushed away clogged energy from my joints, leaving me pulsing with energy! My body felt cleared of stagnant energy in a way I had never experienced from yoga, Pilates, dance, or any other martial art, all of which I love doing.
This Tai Chi form is a tool in my toolbox for healthy, happy living, so I wanted to share it with you. Here is a GREAT VIDEO I found on the form I cherish so much.
Our energetic body needs deliberate movements for us to feel our most energized, creative, and focused. While certainly, physical movement can clear our subtle body, some physical movements may contribute to greater stress on the body and energetic field. So, enjoy the active stillness of this nourishing practice.
